High Street 2012 is transforming one of London’s oldest highways. The route, which passes through many conservation areas, is lined by historic buildings; many of them listed. English Heritage is committed to playing a central part in ensuring the historic environment secures lasting sustainable benefits for communities in the years that follow the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and has committed £1 million towards much needed restoration works to key groups of buildings along the High Street 2012 route.
